Fun dives are for exploring, not formal instruction, and we do not use a dive line to descend. If you would like some guidance or technique feedback while you are out, just ask and we will help where we can. If you want to focus on skills, technique and increasing depth, book a coaching session instead.

Dive sites

A freediver swimming toward a large school of fish over the reef in Jemeluk Bay.

Jemeluk Bay

IDR 900,000

90 minutes in the water

Two minutes' walk from the school

An easy entry site with small waves and no currents. Usually a decent amount of fish, sometimes turtles. Sandy and shallow reef areas (2 to 6m), often shared with snorkelers. The deeper reef (7 to 15m) is less busy, with a wall dropping to 30m. There is a small Hindu temple at 3m and statues at 5 to 6m.

IDR 950,000

90 minutes in the water

Liberty Shipwreck

IDR 1,050,000

90 minutes in the water

30 minutes' drive

Holes, arches and caves through the wreck itself, at 5 to 25m. It can get busy with scuba divers in high season, and strong currents are sometimes experienced here. Best explored with some freediving experience. For beginners, Jemeluk Bay is the better choice. A park fee of IDR 25,000 is paid on site to the local authorities.

Schedule and logistics

We usually meet at the school between 9 and 10am or between 2 and 3pm. Once you've met your instructor and talked through the dive, we get you kitted up and head to the site. Jemeluk Bay and the boat are on our doorstep, so no transport is needed. For the other sites, we travel by automatic scooter. The instructor can take one person on the back of their bike. If there are more of you, each extra person needs their own scooter (available to rent locally).

Prerequisites

You need to be able to snorkel without a life jacket. We always recommend doing a Wave 1 freediving course first if you can, because that is how you get the most out of fun dives.
