freediving in bali

IDR 2.600.000 includes full equipment rental, meals and drinks.

Our Introduction to freediving course covers the most important practical skills from the PADI Freediver course in a single day.

Basic theory classes, a breathing workshop and open water session are included.

Your experience and goals are always discussed before starting.

This course can be taken as a pool-only option at our Sanur beach location.

Most Bali freedive courses take place in Amed.

The theory covers some simple science on how the body works and adapts to freedive training.

We teach you how to relax the mind and body using your breath.

You practice dry simulations of holding the breath.

In the water we cover hydrodynamic body alignment, kicking with long fins and efficient duck diving.

Most students end up diving between 10-15m on an introduction course.

We put more emphasis on achieving a good relaxed feeling during each dive, rather than pushing to your absolute limit.

Freediving Instructor. Eight days.

Freediving Instructor Course is an intensive 8-day experience that tests your ability as a freediver and encourages mastery of techniques.

Presentations, role-play teaching workshops, and physical trials will prepare you for the world of freediving instruction.

The course director and instructor trainer is Sam Henry.

Sam says: “I love facilitating the instructor courses; it’s always a great group of individuals. We have fun, challenge each other, and make real friends in the process. I try to run through as many role-play scenarios as possible, with plenty of opportunities to practice teaching in water. I really want the candidates to start teaching from the start. It’s great to see people find their own leadership and speaking skills.”

On the course, you will practice teaching different parts of the  Level 1 and Level 2 courses in group role-play scenarios, do open water and pool training to complete requirements, prepare and present several presentations on freediving topics, learn how to market yourself as a freediving instructor, become an Emergency First Response instructor, learn about common mistakes and problems encountered with beginner students, learn how to use video analysis to improve student technique, and learn how to use the website to process and certify students.

Assisting is the single best way to prepare for teaching your own courses.

The more situations and scenarios you encounter, the more your knowledge and experience grows as an instructor.

Coaching Sessions

Coaching Sessions offer open water practice for students with some freediving experience who want to improve their skills with an instructor.

Suitable for beginners and experienced freedivers, these sessions help refine your diving and increase your depth and time underwater safely.

Sessions are held at 9am or 2pm and last 90-120 minutes.

Jemeluk Bay offers easy access to 50m depth just a short swim from shore. For more depth, we can take a short boat ride.

After the session, you’ll receive a brief debriefing highlighting areas for improvement.

If you haven’t completed a freediving course yet, we recommend our Level 1 course.
